Covid-19 Pandemic is causing tremendous upheaval in our professional and personal lives. It has created a worldwide economic stress while spreading panic across each and every person. The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce is committed to the initiatives driven by our central and state governments to fight the Covid-19 Pandemic. BCIC is doing its bit by making sure that the relevant information reaches all the Chamber members and the voice of its members is heard by the government.
The Chamber has already made 4 representations to the Government including constituting of “CORONA FUND”, recommendations on behalf of industry to the government on the challenges posed by the pandemic during this economic situation, “CORONA CSR” where the corporates can contribute to the Corona fight through their CSR funds and also on collection of income tax demands to Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
It is heartening to see that our government is focusing on the safety of its citizens and has taken the decision to lock down all the large and small industries to reduce the overall spread of Covid-19. BCIC is in complete support of this decision and the Chamber is putting in efforts to spread this word faster by reaching out to all its members through multiple platforms including awareness mailers, e-posters on hand-washing and sanitising techniques, also by sharing regular updates on government initiatives with its members. All of this even while following the safety precautions implemented our government and having all of its employees work from home.
Soft copies of the hand-washing and sanitising techniques posters can be requested from Ms. Roopa Mohan (office@bcic.in). Please reach out to us for any assistance and we shall endeavour to the best our possibilities to help. We welcome any concrete suggestions or specific representations to be put forth to the Government. We also welcome suggestions and your company’s best practices to tackle the challenges presented by this outbreak.
