BCIC - NSDC Awareness session on NSDC Qualification Pack – National Occupation Standard

Event Detail

The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) jointly with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is organizing a virtual Awareness session on NSDC Qualification Pack – National Occupation Standard on November 10, 2020 from 3.30 to 5.00 pm.

Objective:

The session is organized under the aegis of Task Force Team on Skill Enhancement, Sustainability through Continued Education of Manufacturing  Expert Committee to bring in awareness on the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) comprising Process required, Professional knowledge, Professional skill, Core skill and Responsibility. The Qualification Packs are like Job Descriptions and National Operational Standards are like Competency Descriptions, especially for the individual contributors, which can be a very significant resource to any company.

About National Occupational Standards (NOS):

The National Occupational Standards (NOS) specify the standard of performance an individual must achieve when carrying out a function in the workplace, together with the knowledge and understanding they need to meet a standard consistently. Each NOS defines one key function in a job role. Each NOS must be a concise and readable document, usually consisting of no more than five or six pages (some are only one or two). The NOS are laid down by employers (through their SSCs). A Qualification Pack (QP) is a set of NOS aligned to a job role. A QP is available for every job role in each industry sector.
