"Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce and member Donate Rupees Ten Lakhs to the Chief Minister Relief Fund COVID-19" 30th April, 2020

The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has donated Rupees Ten Lakhs to the 'Chief Minister Relief Fund COVID-19' to support the government in its battle against the ongoing pandemic.

A delegation led by BCIC President, Mr. Devesh Agarwal met with Shri. B. S. Yediyurappa, Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka on the 30th of April, 2020 to present a cheque of Rs. 5 Lakhs as their monetary contribution to the fund. 

Mr. Devesh Agarwal said that, "BCIC continues to extend full support to the Government in its efforts to overcome these difficult times. We have been interacting with the Government periodically and thank them for their positive approach to our suggestions on the best possible ways to revive Karnataka’s economy.  We urge the Government to lift the lockdown at the earliest and put the state on the road to economic recovery."

BCIC Member, Bioplus Healthcare, a Bangalore based Pharmaceutical Company and part of Bioplus Life Sciences group also donated Rs 5 lakhs in kind through 1,000 liters of Sterlomax a  World Health Organisation recommended formula hand disinfectant and hand sanitiser. 

Mr. Sundeep Aurora, Chairman, Bioplus expressed his gratitude to the Drug Controller Office by saying that, "We developed this product in record time and with the grateful assistance of the Drug Controller office we were able to launch it within a few weeks."

Mr. Parasuraman, Sr. Vice President of BCIC, pointed out that, "BCIC has been very actively involved in pro-actively making recommendations to the government to support Industries and its stake holders."
