BCIC President Mr. Kishore Alva Calls on Mr. M K Shankaralinge Gowda IAS (R)- Chairman, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC)

Mr. Kishore Alva, President, Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) & Joint President and Executive Director, Adani - Udupi Power Corporation Ltd. met Mr. M K Shankaralinge Gowda IAS (R), Chairman, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) to discuss on Power situation in the State.

Mr. Kishore Alva suggested that the State Government needs to promote more Electric Vehicle technology in the State, especially in Bangalore so that environment can be secured for future generations. He said: “If there are more charging points established at convenient junctions, people would be encouraged to use more Green Technology Electric Vehicles in the State, thereby reducing pollution levels drastically.”

He also suggested that lake beds should be extensively used for afforestation purposes thereby increasing the depleting green cover in the State. He suggested: “Hebbal Lake in Bangalore could be taken up on a priority basis, as this could be showcased to domestic and foreign visitors when they come from the airport into the city.”

Mr. Kishore Alva assured the State Government that the Chamber will continue to support and be a vital cog in the wheel of economy development to see that Karnataka continues to be the most preferred business destination for not only the domestic sector but overseas corporations.

Mr. Shankarlinge Gowda was appreciative of the effort initiated by the newly elected President of BCIC Mr. Kishore Alva to reach out to him and the State Government to share his plans and support the Government in its various endeavours.
